How To Setup Explorer's FTP Program Tutorial

Connecting to your hosted account via Internet Explorer is fast and simple to do. You will need the following:

  • Your InMotion account username
  • Your InMotion account password
  • Your domain name. (If your domain name is not fully-qualified, you will need your server name)

Once you have this information, you will be ready to move on to Step 1.

Step 1

In your browser enter the following information:

ftp://(username):(password)@servername.inmotionhosting.com
or
ftp://(username):(password)@your-domain-name.com

For example, if your username is anothe5, password is testtest and servername is azimov.inmotionhosting.com you will enter the information below:

ftp://anothe5:testtest@azimov.inmotionhosting.com

Please note: Depending upon your Internet Connection and if you are connecting via FTP for the first time, there will be a slight delay.

Step 2

Above also shows a listing of the directories on your InMotion Hosting Web Account. The public_html directory is where you need to upload your files to. Double click on the folder public_html directory. It should look something similar this:

Step 3

From here, go ahead and drag any files that you might have to into the correct directory. You may navigate through any directories that you might need to by double clicking on them. If you need to go up a directory, click your browser's back button.

Once you have finished using the FTP program, close your browser window.
